Spend with unclear results
The budget is going out every month, but nobody can say with confidence which campaigns produce leads or sales.
Google Ads · Microsoft Ads · Mineral, Virginia
I’m David Buckwalter, an independent PPC freelancer. I plan, build, and manage Google Ads and Microsoft Ads accounts for businesses that want someone senior working on the account directly, without being passed down to a junior team.
Common problems
The budget is going out every month, but nobody can say with confidence which campaigns produce leads or sales.
Conversions are double-counted, missing, or set to page views, so automated bidding optimizes toward the wrong thing.
The same search demand exists on Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo, often at a lower cost per click, and it isn’t being reached.
Broad match and automation have drifted into queries that have nothing to do with the offer, and negatives were never maintained.
Reports arrive, but the account history shows few real changes, and questions go to an account manager instead of the specialist.
A new business or new offer needs a clean account build with tracking in place from day one instead of fixing it later.
Services
Each engagement covers strategy, setup, and ongoing optimization on one or both networks.
GA4, Google Tag Manager, enhanced conversions, Microsoft UET, call and form tracking, and offline conversion import.
A structured review of settings, tracking, spend distribution, search terms, and missed opportunities.
Message match, form friction, speed, and mobile layout, with notes your developer can act on.
A monthly report in plain language, plus a live Looker Studio dashboard if you want one.
Process
We talk about your offer, margins, target customers, geography, and what a lead or sale is worth to you.
With read access to your accounts, I review tracking, structure, and spend, then send a written plan with priorities.
Conversions are fixed or set up and verified before budgets change, so bidding has accurate data.
Campaigns, keywords, ads, assets, audiences, and negatives are set up in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.
Search term reviews, bid and budget changes, ad testing, and a monthly report on what changed and why.

Microsoft Ads shows ads on Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and partner sites. Its audience is different from Google’s, and for many offers it adds conversions at a comparable or lower cost. The only way to know for your business is to test it with proper tracking.
